Swiatlo (Light)
Christians can be very stupid sometimes. I should know, as I'm a Christian, and I tend to be stupid pretty regularly. It comes with being human, I guess. But unfortunately, Christians, myself included, sometimes do more to obscure the life-giving Light of Christ than to display it. That's what this piece is about. This was my entry into the monthly contest hosted by the Polish club at deviantART (polska.deviantart.com).The task of the contest was to make a piece inspired by "The Stolen Poem" by the poet Maria Pawlikowska-Jasnorzewska.
Polish is a beautiful language; elegant and very mutable. English, though definitely beautiful in other ways, is by comparison somewhat clunky and inflexible. Due to this, and my sub-par translation abilities, my translation of this poem will have little of the original grace, but it will at least give you an understanding of the theme:
"The Stolen Poem" - Maria Pawlikowska-Jasnorzewska
God has become a lukewarm church of iron and rust...
Inside its dome, the sky, as blue as cornflowers,
illuminates the pillars' ashen darkness
Through the forest wanders a wind, old and churchly
It blows on the silver beech candelabras
And quenches the leaves: the flames and the sparks.
Self Portrait
A self portrait I made recently. I made the face in Illustrator, and then did some colour modification and extra background work in Photoshop. The background was constructed with the help of some stock photo images from one of the great free stock packages offered by the resurgere group. You can see an alternate version of this piece here.

"Out of the Ordinary" Flash site
I recently completed an album of electronic music, titled Out of the Ordinary. I have created a whole separate Flash site to showcase this CD. Click the image above to see it
NOTE: Pentium 4 or equivalent is strongly recommended, and so is broadband. Even with broadband, you will see a white screen for about a minute or two before the site loads up, so please be patient. I apologise for that, but the site contains several minutes of music, and unfortunately Flash needs to load all of it up before it can start displaying anything.
Winamp skin: Kopernik
My most recent winamp skin. Two things that are very important to me in skinning are originality and solid functionality. Too many skins excel in one department but perform miserably in the other. I tried with this one to keep it original and different, yet still very useable.
In a way, this skin was an attempt to achieve a style similar to that of a skinner from yesteryear whom I really admire: Marek Wojtal, another Polish skinner. My skin is not as organic or technically impressive as Wojtal's skins - but it is more user-friendly.
Kopernik was a Polish astronomer who is often called the 'father of modern astronomy'. Internationally, he is better known by his Latin name, Copernicus.
Winamp skin: TemplateMonster.com
It's not the most spectacular of skins, yet it's one of my favourites, of my skins. I was commissioned to do it by templatemonster.com, and it was designed to complement the appearance of their website.
Winamp skin: Terminator 3
I haven't even seen the movie! This skin was made for the terminator-3.com digital art contest a while back. I was lucky enough to win first prize (a digital camera!), which was one of my 'proudest skinning moments' - not least because my non-freeform "classic-style" skin managed to beat a quite good-looking and much trendier freeform skin.
In my winamp skins, I often try to make my volume animations as interesting and complex as is possible in such a small (68x13 pixel) area. This is one of my best ones, and its eye-catching gimmickry no doubt had a significant say in its eventual victory.
Winamp skin: The SHAG skin
Based on the great illustrations by SHAG.
Winamp skin: Calvin & Hobbes
A skin based on the wonderful cartoon strip by Bill Watterson, Calvin and Hobbes.
SkinCalc skin: Calvin & Hobbes
Another Calvin & Hobbes themed skin, this time for the nifty SkinCalc, a freeware skinnable calculator.
